⏱️ Duration: ~3 minutes

Getting Started

CyberNanny consists of two parts: the parent app and the child app. Both need to be installed and configured for the system to work properly.

The entire setup process takes about 5 minutes. Make sure you have both devices ready and an active internet connection.

Part 1: Parent Device Setup

Install and configure the app on the parent's device

1

Download and Install

Get the CyberNanny app from your device's app store

  • Install the app from the one of the app stores: Google Play
2

Create Your Account

Register as a parent to get started

  • Open the CyberNanny app
  • Register with Google
3

Generate QR Code

Create a QR code for linking the child's device

  • After logging in, QR code should appear on the screen. This QR code can also be found in the settings.

Part 2: Child Device Setup

Install and configure the app on the child's device

1

Download and Install

Install CyberNanny on the child's device

  • Install the app from the one of the app stores: Google Play
2

Scan QR Code

Connect the child's device to the parent account

  • Open the CyberNanny app on the child's device
  • Tap 'Scan QR Code' button on login screen
  • Use the camera to scan the QR code from the parent's device
  • Wait for the connection to be established
3

Grant Permissions

Enable necessary permissions for monitoring

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to grant Location, Notifications, Accessibility, and other required permissions
  • Once all permissions are granted, the setup is complete and data will start syncing to the parent app

⚠️Important Notes

  • Android devices require more permissions than iOS due to platform restrictions. This is normal and necessary for full functionality.
  • Some features may require disabling battery optimization for the app to work reliably in the background.
  • For the best experience, keep both apps updated to the latest version available in the app stores.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and their solutions

The QR code won't scan. What should I do?

Make sure both devices have good lighting, the camera lens is clean, and you're holding the phone steady. You can also try increasing the screen brightness on the parent's device. If it still doesn't work, you can use the manual code entry option instead.

Location tracking is not working properly

Check that Location Services are enabled on the child's device, the app has permission to access location 'Always' (not just 'While Using'), and battery optimization is disabled for CyberNanny. On some Android devices, you may also need to enable 'High Accuracy' mode in Location Settings.

Data is not syncing between devices

Ensure both devices have a stable internet connection. Try closing and reopening the app on both devices. Check that the child's device has granted all necessary permissions. If the problem persists, try logging out and back in on the parent's device.

Some features are not available on iOS

Due to Apple's strict privacy policies, some monitoring features available on Android are limited or unavailable on iOS. This is a platform restriction, not a limitation of our app. We provide all features that Apple's policies allow.
